Lucky Maybank customer Chheng Vutha collected the keys to a brand new home on Saturday after being named as the grand prize winner of Maybank’s “Save Now & Win Big” campaign. Vutha received a one-bedroom condominium unit in The Garden Residency boutique development complex in Phnom Penh valued at approximately $42,000.

“I couldn’t believe I’m so lucky. This is the biggest win I have ever had,” said Vutha. “I am a rather new Maybank customer, having banked with them for just over a year, but this gives me more reason to continue banking with Maybank! My entire family is so excited with this reward.”

As a first-of-its-kind competition in Cambodia, featuring a joint collaboration with Malaysian property developers JS Land Limited, the campaign ran from June 1 to December 31 last year, receiving an overwhelming response from existing and new customers.

Speaking at the prize-giving event held at Tonle Bassac II restaurant, Maybank (Cambodia) CEO Cynthia Liaw said the competition was an acknowledgment of an increase in customer loyalty that they were experiencing in recent years, and aimed to reciprocate this loyalty. “The Maybank ‘Save Now & Win Big’ campaign was conceptualized with our customers in mind. The campaign instills good saving habits and aims to reward loyal savers with a fantastic prize,” she said.

Dato’ Jack Yap, managing director of JS Land Limited, said that the collaboration with Maybank had enabled the winner to own a beautiful home. “The Garden Residency, located in Sen Sok district, boasts of two infinity pools, two sky gardens, a roof top garden and 24-hour security. It is the most reasonably priced development targeted to help Cambodians own a house in the city of Phnom Penh,” said Yap.

New and existing accountholders were granted an opportunity to win the condominium unit with every $500 increase in their savings or current accounts with Maybank.
