German automakers Porsche unveiled two brand new models to their extensive range in Cambodia on Wednesday night during a media presentation held at the equally new German brewery and craft beer garden Hops.
The Macan GTS is a sporty crossover SUV with supreme performance but enough functionality and comfort to make it fit for the whole family. Meanwhile, the 718 Cayman S is a two-seat mid-engine coupe that offers endless fun for racing enthusiasts.
The safe arrival of the Cayman completes Porsche’s entire lineup of models available for purchase in the Kingdom, which includes the iconic 911 sportscar, the slightly larger Cayenne SUV, the sleek and stylish Panamera and the compact Boxster roadster.
Despite Porsche only opening the doors of its Centre in Phnom Penh 18 months ago, their plan is clear.
“The brand is here to introduce the sports car culture, built with high technology for high performance,” said Michael Vetter, CEO of Precision Cars (Cambodia) Ltd, Porsche’s official distributors in the Kingdom.
The 2017 Macan GTS, which will retail for $205,200 in Cambodia (including VAT), packs 360bhp under its aggressively designed hood. Its offers remarkable fuel economy of 8.8 litres per 100km and can sprint to 100kmph from standstill in a tidy five seconds flat thanks to 500Nm of torque.
Black is back in fashion, with black LED headlights, black RS Spyder wheels, black chrome-finished exhaust pipes and black model lettering on the tailgate.

The 718 Cayman S has a sharpened exterior and updated designs for its headlights, taillights and cockpit. It will go on sale for $187,100 in Cambodia.
The new 4-cylinder turbocharged 2.0L engine sups just 7.3 litres of petrol per 100km, and will rocket the car from 0-100kmph in 4.2 seconds.
It also includes the Porsche Communication Management 4.0 system as well as Variable Turbo Geometry.
