Cambodian online users keen to share engaging content

The average Cambodian internet user spends almost two hours a day on social media networks, mainly Facebook via mobile. Cambodian youths have been identified as the world’s most receptive to social media advertising and content, according to a study conducted by market research firm Kantar TNS entitled ‘Connected Life’. TNS Cambodia general manager Eelco Dijkhuizen revealed the findings of the study yesterday during a breakfast discussion hosted by EuroCham, including that a third of the 15 million population and nearly half of all urban-dwellers are now connected to the internet.
With the average Cambodian online user spending almost two hours a day on social media networks and visiting an average of 3.4 platforms a week, almost always via their mobile device rather than a computer, Dijkhuizen noted it was imperative for marketers to create engaging online content and specifically-targeted advertising. The study found that 75 percent of online users in Cambodia, virtually all of whom have a Facebook account, shared brand posts they think are interesting or engaging.
