The Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh is slated for a Q1 2021 opening, and it will be the first Hyatt hotel to open in the Cambodian capital.
The hotel will include 247 guestrooms including 43 suites, and the new contemporary-meets-colonial property is situated in the heart of Phnom Penh’s cultural and business district of Daun Penh and within walking distance to the Royal Palace, National Museum and the riverside.
The hotel will feature 1,400 square meters of meeting space as well as recreational facilities including a 24-hour fitness centre, tropical infinity pool, spa and the Regency Club Lounge.
The designs were created by award-winning Singapore-based SCDA Architects, with a mix of Khmer architecture and French colonial influences. Specially-commissioned artworks by contemporary Cambodian artist, FONKi, will also be on display.
According to a press release, the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh will feature five dining venues including:
- The Attic: An old-world speakeasy-style bar.
- FiveFive Rooftop Restaurant & Bar: A stylish indoor/outdoor open-plan dining concept where guests can enjoy panoramic views of the Mekong River, the Royal Palace and the city skyline alongside refreshing cocktails and lively DJ performances.

In April 2020, a new report from C9 Hotelworks suggested a large number of new hotels are due to open in the Kingdom of Cambodia’s capital of Phnom Penh in the next few years.
The Phnom Penh Hotel Market Update 2020 reports there are 313 hotels with 19,337 keys and 523 guests houses in Phnom Penh in 2020.
