Beginning this month, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) intends to visit all businesses in the capital to collect some basic documentation and gather statistical data that will help them shape their tax collection policy, according to an announcement made on the Ministry’s website last week.
The notification (No.39) was issued by the MEF on July 21, and says that the Joint Working Group for Data Collection, the General Department of Taxation (GDT) and the Phnom Penh Municipality will engage in data collection starting this month.
The announcement pertains to both registered and unregistered businesses.
