The National Bank of Cambodia announced during a seminar this weekend that it has forecasted a 7.1 percent GDP growth for the rest of the year.
Speakers at the seminar—which tackled the state of the economy during the first half of the year—praised the strength of the banking sector, which is a major contributor to the economy.
Bank deposits and loans reached 67 and 80 percent of GDP respectively for the first half of the year, while inflation remained low at just 2.8 percent.
