IP Enforcement, Infringement and Beyond
Cambodia’s recent and much-lauded accession to the Madrid Protocol and the grant of her first patent heralds, perhaps, one small step for the global IP market, but one giant leap for the country. Why? Clear, transparent and robust IPR protection and enforcement mechanisms are paramount both to foreign investors into Cambodia and the country’s entrepreneurial youth, without which the fundamental trade-off that sits at the heart of any functioning IPR system – that of protecting rights-holders and stimulating innovation and market growth – cannot be achieved.
Great strides are afoot at the ministerial level to strengthen Cambodia’s IPR system and Sciaroni & Associates is pleased to host an interactive Breakfast Seminar, presented by the Head of our IP Practice Group, Simon Burlinson, who will talk us through the current IP climate in Cambodia, the enforcement mechanisms available for IPR holders under law and in practice and how imminent developments are crucial to attract FDI, protect rights holders and provide a framework for sustainable stimulation of the economy.
Kindly RSVP by COB Friday, 14 July to Ms. Huot Chamnab: firstname.lastname@example.org or call +855 23 210 225.
