2020 PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards

The 2020 PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards will be held this Friday, 5th September 2020 in Phnom Penh. This is the 5th time the awards will be held, to celebrate the leading real estate developers, designs and development in Cambodia. The shortlist of nominees for this latest Cambodian awards edition were announced in August 2020. There are a dozen real estate companies in contention to pick up an accolade across more than 30 categories, including new outstanding Developer titles. Some winners have already been confirmed and Hok Kang, the founder of Urbanland Investment Co., Ltd and Hok Kang Architects, has been announced as the recipient of the 2020 Cambodia Real Estate Personality of the Year title. The judging panel comprises of various members of Cambodia's real estate and development companies. Health protocols will be followed leading up to and on the day of the gala event to minimise the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cambodian Property 2020

In 2019, the construction and real-estate sector in Cambodia yielded investment worth approximately $11.43 billion, a 90% rise from 2018. In the six months of 2020, the total value of the projects was valued at $3.84 billion in Cambodia with 2,522 projects receiving construction permits from the Cambodian Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction. Foreigners currently investing in the Cambodian property sector in 2020 come from 18 countries, the majority being Chinese, South Koreans and Japanese. The Annual Banking Supervision Report 2019 added that more than 97% of banks were offering credit to real estate in Cambodia.
