Café Amazon, owned by Thai oil giant PTT Plc, has recently awarded 19 franchise licenses to operate new outlets across the Kingdom, positioning itself for a major expansion.

According to representatives of the coffee brand, Café Amazon has established 14 outlets since entering the Cambodian market in 2013. Once the new licenses are put to use the total number of shops will jump to 33, with 120 planned for operation by 2021. Five of the newly awarded licenses are outside of the capital. Dong Didayana, who operates a recently opened Café Amazon in Aeon Mall, said early sales are averaging 1,000 units per day. "It's a very good business," he said. "I know some big shops already operating that are selling nearly 2,000 units a day."
