In June 2021, the Cambodian Single Portal online business registration platform celebrated its one year anniversary and now the second phase is being planned for rollout in August 2021. The plans to make the second phase available were made known at a virtual inter-ministerial meeting on July 12, led by ministry secretary of state Phan Phalla. In total, more than $2.6 billion in capital had been registered with the government’s online Business Registration Platform after 12 months, and only six ministries and state-run institutions are linked to Single Portal:
  • Ministry of Commerce
  • General Department of Taxation
  • Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training
  • Ministry of Interior
  • Council of Development of Cambodia
  • Ministry of Economy and Finance
The Small and Medium Enterprises and Handicraft is close to being integrated into the Single Portal, reported the Phnom Penh Post. Six more planned to be added which include the industry, tourism, telecoms, agriculture and health ministries, as well as the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia - but it was not made clear if these would be added in the second phase. Phase Two is expected to be a strategic government plan to further streamline procedures for businesses in Cambodia, especially small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) said the PP Post.
