The latest Ookla results for network speeds in Cambodia have just been announced, again placing Cellcard as having the fastest 4G in the Kingdom.

The results were taken from data gathered between July and December 2017.

Cellcard had an overall speed score of 19.64 Megabits per second MBps, up from 13.81 in the previous test (Jan-June 2017).

The win comes shortly after the recent round of awards by OpenSignal, announced at Mobile World Congress in February.

Cellcard Chief Executive Officer, Ian Watson said the Ookla results confirmed yet again the progress of the network programme which began in January 2017 with just 200 4G sites.

“Now Cellcard has almost 3000 4G sites on air giving customers a world-class mobile data service,”Mr Watson said.

“Our network carries a 400% increase in mobile data traffic since January 2017 and we’ve seen the average consumption of data per person more than double.”

“As the network leader, Cellcard will continue to provide affordable access to mobile data and deliver on our strategy to digitise the economy and community and help progress the Kingdom.”

To determine the fastest mobile network speeds in Cambodia, Ookla compared user-initiated tests taken on the Speedtest iOS and Android mobile apps from all major mobile carriers in Cambodia over the award period.
