New Life Insurer To Enter Fledgling Cambodian Market

 Bangkok Life Assurance will start offering life insurance policies in the Kingdom by early next year, according to Thai news outlets, entering a nascent market with huge potential. 

The Thai insurance firm was granted a licence to operate in Cambodia earlier this year, and intends to set up a joint venture subsidiary with $7 million in registered capital. Bangkok Life Insurance is Thailand’s sixth-biggest life insurer in terms of market share. Other companies who recently announced plans to set up offices in the Kingdom include Japan’s Dai Ichi Life and rival Thai insurer Muang Thai Life.
