The Shanty Town Spirit Association is set to host a 10 year anniversary celebration "Thank You event" in December to mark a decade of commendable service, and to show appreciation to the partners and supporters who have been instrumental in the association's success.
Founded in 2013 by Princess Ermine Norodom, the association has dedicated itself to enhancing the lives of Cambodia's most underprivileged communities residing in impoverished conditions within a dumpsite in Phnom Penh.
At a press conference on November 16, 2023, at the Raffles Hotel Le Royal, the Shanty Town Spirit Association officially announced the upcoming 10th anniversary celebration and thank you event which will be held on December 7, 2023 at the Raffles Hotel as well. The press event was hosted by Princess Ermine and her husband, Prince Narithipong Norodom, and attended by sponsors, media partners, association ambassadors, and other distinguished guests.
Shanty Town Spirit introduced the sponsors and media partners for its 10th anniversary celebration. Princess Ermine thanked the association’s donors and supporters, noting that it is thanks to their help that Shanty Town Spirit has been able to provide the best quality of life that all people deserve. “I would like to thank all our event partners, previous donors, and media partners for their help, and hope you’ll all join us to celebrate in December,” said Ermine. “When my wife first decided to create Shanty Town Spirit many years ago, we never could have imagined how far the association would come,” added Prince Narithipong. “We are very proud of the work done and we want to sincerely thank all generous partners and supporters over the years.”

Shanty Town Spirit's ambassador, Princess Jenna, also shared short remarks on her support for the association and her excitement for the 10th anniversary celebration in December.
"It’s been a pleasure to see all the activities and achievements this association has made for the community over the past 10 years, and I also can’t wait for Shanty Town Spirit's 10th anniversary celebration as I will be performing at the event as well," said Jenna.
The press conference announced that the event in December will feature a charity lucky draw with a number of exciting prizes on offer, as well as an auction for a specially signed shirt by a world famous "top 3" football player. The identity of the sports star was not announced and will only be revealed on the night of the event.

Shanty Town Spirit has been a beacon of hope for over 300 individuals, including babies, children, and the elderly, fostering an environment where basic facilities and opportunities for growth are no longer out of reach. Despite limited resources, the association has been able to provide those in need with the necessary tools for clean living, health, education, and the means for self-empowerment. To honour this ten-year journey of transformation and communal effort, Shanty Town Spirit is inviting all former benefactors to a gratitude-filled evening on December 7, 2023, at Raffles Hotel Le Royal.
