Cambodian businesses can now export luggage, backpacks, wallets and other travel items to the U.S. duty-free, U.S. Ambassador William Heidt announced yesterday.

As of July 1, Cambodia can export travel items, in addition to 5,000 other products, to the U.S. without paying duties. "This is a once in a generation opportunity to build a world-class industry from the ground-up," Mr. Heidt said, adding that he hopes the initiative will give manufacturers a chance to  improve working conditions in the factories and reduce their environmental impact.
