The international hotpot chain Haidilao is poised to expand its reach into Cambodia, with plans to open a new branch in Phnom Penh in 2024. This development follows a recent agreement with Prince Mall Phnom Penh. The official announcement coincided with the inauguration of Prince Mall Phnom Penh on November 30, 2023, located in the bustling Khan Chamkar Mon district. Vivian Liu, the Commercial General Manager of Prince Mall, indicated that the mall is expected to open around the second quarter of 2024.
Attracting High-Profile Brands To Cambodia
Other than Haidilao Hotpot, this new shopping destination has already attracted several high-profile brands to Cambodia, such as Player One, SEEDS, Hybrid Coffee Shop, TANYU, Founder Bak Kut Teh, Chinai's Curry, Thaihee, Wiggle Wiggle, Pennehut, and Beauty Farm. Among the mall's flagship stores are Khmer123 Buffet, Dim Sum Emperor, MINISO IP Store, Mr. DUCK, MIXUE, SCORPION & CO, and KRONG KHMER MASSAGE. In a discussion with B2B Cambodia, Liu stated that Prince Mall is swiftly advancing to lead the market with the introduction of new brands and a diverse array of entertainment and services. Highlighting the expertise of her team, Liu emphasised their extensive experience in commercial operations and their proven track record in the competitive Chinese market. With robust marketing strategies, she said she is confident that the success experienced by Prince Mall Sihanoukville, which has thus far hosted 140 events, will be replicated in Phnom Penh.
Entrance Of Haidilao Hotpot
Haidilao Hotpot will be opening at the new Prince Mall Phnom Penh. Haidilao Hotpot, a Chinese multinational restaurant chain specialising in hotpot cuisine, was founded in Sichuan, China, in 1994. It currently operates nearly 1,500 restaurants worldwide, primarily in China, as well as in the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Since expanding to Singapore in 2012 and opening its first Thai store in 2019, Haidilao has continued to grow its presence in Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Jonny Liao, Commercial Listing Director of Prince Mall, expressed his enthusiasm about Haidilao's addition to the mall, noting its potential to invigorate the venue's atmosphere.
"We think Haidilao is an international, global brand, very well-known, especially in Southeast Asia," he said. "This will boost the energy of the new mall."
Prince Mall Sihanoukville also boasts a variety of renowned brands, including Legend Cinema, AnCha beverage store, and other internationally recognised names like Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Champion, and Armani Exchange.
