The Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC) and the world’s biggest cryptocurrency platform Binance have held their first workshop designed to improve the SERC officials’ understanding of the digital asset space.
Some of the key topics covered during this first workshop were the types of digital assets, consumer protection, token listings, DeFi (Decentralised finance) applications, stablecoins (well-known ones include Tether (USDT) or USD Coin (USDC)), and much more.
The workshop was completed earlier in August 2022, Binance confined online and this follows the memorandum of understanding (MoU) which was signed by both parties at the end of June 2022.
Binance said online it “reaffirmed its commitment to establishing productive collaborations with SERC and sharing its vast expertise with those in charge of designing and enforcing rules for digital asset markets.”
These capacity-building events are part of the ongoing support that Binance will provide to the Cambodian regulator and agency as it aims to embrace digital asset innovation and works on building a regulatory framework for blockchain and digital assets in Cambodia said the exchange.
