Frasers Hospitality To Open Three Properties in Cambodia

The number of international hotel brands is ever increasing in the Kingdom of Cambodia, with Frasers Hospitality, part of Singapore-listed Frasers Property, confirming that they will open three properties in Phnom Penh, the first of which will launch in October 2022. What Properties will Frasers Hospitality be launching in Cambodia? Ms Tonya Khong, Senior Vice President, Head of Asia Pacific at Frasers Hospitality, said, “In the last decade, Phnom Penh has evolved into a thriving and vibrant city. Coupled with a young, dynamic economy and strong pandemic recovery measures in Cambodia, we are excited to introduce our range of Frasers Hospitality brands to cater to different markets and offer the quality experiences we are known for.” The Group announced plans for three properties: The first property is the 88-room Capri by Fraser located in the capital Phnom Penh and is the first due to open - in October 2022. Guests can enjoy the Spin & Play concept; utilising self-service laundrettes while having a go at video games on the latest consoles, as well as access to a state-of-the-art 24-hour gymnasium. The Den will be a large communal space "fitted out with the latest technology that is perfect for workcations." A second Capri by Fraser property will be launched only 5-minutes away in the city centre, with 78 rooms, and is due for completion in 2024. Frasers Hospitality said in February 2022, that both properties will feature a mix of hotel rooms, studio apartments and 1-bedroom units "targeted at transient business travellers and mid-level executives on extended stays." The third property will be a 200-room Fraser Residence Sen Sok and is scheduled to be complete in 2026. The serviced apartment is expected to accommodate expatriates on extended stays and is "part of an integrated development that includes a retail mall, medical centre and office tower."

Frasers Hospitality senior vice-president and head of Asia-Pacific Tonya Khong said the properties are expected to do well due to regional events such as the 2023 Southeast Asian Games and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). The press release from the company added that "Cambodia is an attractive location, having one of the highest vaccination and booster rates globally and few border restrictions. A new airport, currently under construction in Phnom Penh, will support visitor arrivals, which saw year-on-year growth between 2010 and 2019.

New Hotels in Phnom Penh 2022

The Citadines serviced residence, Citadines Flatiron Phnom Penh, is also set to open in Phnom Penh on 15th March 2022. Tribe Phnom Penh Post Office Square and a BHCC Tower 200-room business hotel are also slated for 2022 launches.
